PixelJunk Shooter 2

The original was excellent and this sequel’s downright magical. It may be my favorite 2D shooter. The awesome fluid simulation + lava and water wrangling from the original make a return, along with a surprising amount of fun new tricks. Hell, there’s even a cool competitive multiplayer component.

And the art style! I’ve been putzing around with 2D polygons forever but these guys nailed it.

Playing coop with my wife is one of the best things I’ve done on my PS3. Games like this make me feel like an ass for ever gaming alone.
