Day 2 of my Pile of Kittens work:
Between Skyward Sword and Bored to Death, I found far too many distractions today. I did still spend several startlingly unproductive hours on Pile of Kittens, though.
As always, getting animations to blend as expected for me in Unity is proving a kind of baffling endeavor. I imagine the problem’s mostly that I haven’t found a way to avoid exporting keyframes in Blender for every single bone on every single animation, and so there doesn’t seem to be a good way to play two animations at once without manually defining affected bones for every animation I want to play “on top” of another. I can certainly do that, but I feel obliged to spend a few hours trying to do otherwise every time I encounter this. Flailing, etc.
I redid the game’s style to be much flatter shortly after uploading my screenshot last night. I’ve got some basic look around and run/jump code working, but I mostly feel like an ass for having so little done right now.
